Basti is a therapeutic dough treatment that can be applied to any relatively flat surface of the body. A practitioner will apply the dough to the affected area, accompanied by medicated herbal oil that's tailored to reduce inflammation, pain and help lubricate the area for more optimal range of movement. The treatment lasts for 50 minutes and is followed by a 10-minute Swedhana (detox box) session.
